What is with the hair?!! Just wanted to post this! I'm always fascinated how nature gets to compliment us with so many nice features, that goes perfectly with who we are...there is no way I can be the same if I get to change my outlook...I would certainly look different...and be the same person but I would definitely get to see myself differently so do I actually get to stay the same in the end?! More to this, even people get to react to me differently because they see another me...a different me...so does appearance and essence go together?!

How does it look?! Does it look Greek to you?! It's Hebrew!! It's a fascinating language...it's the orginal language of the old testament text...I'll be reading closely one of the books contained in this section...viz. the Song of Songs or is it goes in transliteration [sir ha sirim] the "s" with an "x" sound...i'll be critically analyzing the text and parsing a couple of so called problematic verses whereby it is not as clear cut who is who?! this can only at this stage be claimed to be inferred upon various sound suppositions that the context itself give out. Well it's quite of a complex issue which I still have to figure out in the long run as I set the ball rolling...
This is not an easy task at all...Well I never thought it were but I never knew it were as tough.
But still I'm gonna push myself to the limit to make it!
Today was quite of a fruitful day...I had a presentation this morning of the research paper outline and I still had to print out and copy the handouts which I thought would become handy for my colleagues to follow me through. Well I was somewhat late for there was some other people photocopying and there were not another vacant machine...but still I did make it and all went well...it was well received and I also had some constructive feedback which shed some light upon some grey areas...which is good!!

After then I headed to the library and started off with some research...looked up some books which I still have to consult as they are at the Arts Library which close to my college...and then I had lunch with a couple of friends from Holland and Romania [Transalvania] to be precise @ an ALMA restaurant...I had fish for a change...I don't usually get to eat fish but I just decided to have some fish...it was delicious!! Then headed back to library to hit some other books...and then had a very fruitful meeting with Profs. Pierre van Hecke...an expert in various fields but most especially in languages....he teaches some seven languages, hebrew, greek, latin, syriac, phoenician and others [to name just a few]. I'll be following some Hebrew classes with him if only he can get to offer it in English as it is officially offered @ the Arts Faculty whereby they don't have an English Programme so all the classes are given in Dutch. But he promised that he will work out something for me. He is after helping me out. He is simply a gift unto to the world...

A blessing...! After that back to the library...and after I had classes from 5pm till 7pm then I headed home prepared dinner ate and now I'm working on a paper which I have to submit by Wednesday...in the meantime I also have to study for the Greek test...do my laundry attend to various meetings...do some shopping...run some other errands before I get to head back home in three days...

enough of this...off to bed...

Birth pangs...

There you go....Here it is!!

Christmas is approaching...How am I preparing for this time of year?! Am I ready to give birth?! Do I feel any birth pangs?! Am I a luminary that sheds light unto others...Am I stretching out my arms to the other...Am I only after how I'll have have pleasure myself? Well lately I'm continuously cross-examining myself...more than ever before and the reason why I'm doing this is because the atmosphere around here makes you think and ask so many things!

This is so because there is this one stark reality which troubles me...why and how have we forsaken Christ?! Why have we done away with this reality?! Why do we have come to call Christmas celebrations tradition?!! I've been troubled...I've become very upset lately...when I got to read that for fear of offending others who abide and profess different religions than ours as Christians we do away with our identity...we do away with what is ours and with what is ours to share...to declare unto to the world ?! What is it that we fear? Why is it that we're not as proud?!
Why are we after pleasing and not hurting others?! Why should our identity...our differences be a matter of offence? Why is it that in being different we can never relate in peace with others?! This is thwarted logic! It is only in difference that there is unity.
So let's keep up our FACE!!!

Let's bear witness...to the CHRIST event...

Awaiting upon the child to be born...

Are you there?!!

How beautiful...this ass and two sheep are in a barn shed at the very city centre awaiting the child to be born...we should also follow suit and await upon the child...well this morning i finsihed off with my outline and then at noon i rushed out to the christmas market again to see if anything had changed...if i could catch a glimpse of HIM but he was nowhere to be seen...true I saw him under other shapes and manifestations...but still!!

Anyways, after I ran to some nice shops and bought some stuff I went to the city centre and there I beheld the most a heavenly scene...there was a big wooden barn with these animals and inside...with an unanimated crib....but the child is still not yet born...so it was not yet placed in the manger yet...pictures of this are still to follow....

Christmas without Christ...?!!

Araw taqblux mieghi!! After the morning classes I headed back to the college and on my way I stopped at the Christmas Market...it is not out of the world thing...it's not that spectucular believe me. It was quite on the contrary. If you get to see the picture you'll get to see yourself.
I was perplexed...I got to ask the lady even how the heck did she get to have a stall @ the Christmas market?!

And she said as long as you have something to sell than you're qualified!! Strange but true...Is the devil our saviour now?! What's wrong with the world?! How come everything is going topsy turvy?! Upside down?! Why are we confusing things?!
I saw no crib...I saw no sign of Jesus anywhere..He is absent!
Let's make him present and keep him present in our own midst...we can't do away with his presence...

St. Nicholas

Mela ara min ma jkollux x'jaghmel?! Dan ilbierah...dik l imbierka Polloka!

Today is St. Nicholas...Woke up and at my door I found a nice basket filled with chocolates, biscuits (speculoos) mmmm my favourites....fruits a book and some other small gifts, as well as a card from "St. Nicky" .... Zuza is behind all this!! She is such a treasure...she colours my world and I get to believe in angels also because she is one!!

I also had something for her! I left some nice candles for her yesterday night at her door...given that it is Advent...for which light is synonymous...and this morning I rushed to her room and left my other present to her!!

There are great celebrations going on today!! But our spirits are somewhat damped because last night a tragic accident happened just at our College gate...a girl on her bicycle was hit by a crazy motorcyclists...her bike was all in bit and pieces...it was no fatal accident but it was a big one!! May the good Lord be with us down every road we take and keep us safe!!!

Guess who?!!

Guess Who??!!

Just want to let you guess who this might be!! It's not as obvious as you think! But just guess!! And guess what is it that the person depicted in the photo is doing! You might get to ask...is this some kind of a game?! Well take it as you will!!

Enough...is that what you're saying?! Well I could tell!! Fair enough...

But I've got to some other business to settle...and that's sharing how I fared today! I had a full day...had my alarm set at 6am but woke up at 7am revised some last minute grammar points and then had a quick breakfast...prepared some packed lunch for myself and rushed to classes...had my test...did quite well in that! Had some four hours classes straight...then lunch hour and then some other four hours of classes till 7pm. In the meantime I rushed to my place to prepare some food...and what I had on the menu for today was rice salad because I actually said to myself that I should 'abstain' from going to the market to buy food which I won't get to consume before I get to head back home in a week's time! And so far so good...I'm keeping up with that resolution. It's not as tough as I thought it would be. But I've got to really be creative as I can't prepare much with what I still have left on my cupboard shelf. As for tomorrow I can have some korma chicken...that's still possible to have.

Now I'm off to do some reading! Just had a snack with my neighbour [Lode] is his name...he is a graduate in theology and is now following a degree in philosophy...quite of a nice chap!

Anyways this is all for now...will get to tell you more about the goings on laters!!

Winter Wonders

Christmas preparations are well under way here...Huge Christmas trees...lights and wooden chalets all over. As in three days' time the Christmas market will be opened. This is only a miniature of the "Winter Wonders" which will be at Brussels Centraal...with some 24o wooden chalets, skating rinks, choirs, processions, troupes of wandering artists, brass bands, concerts, to name a few. There is a full programme of activities one could follow. I would love to get there later on this week but as usual I'm incredibly busy and so much tight with deadlines. I still have to submit the reflection for tomorrow and start of revising for my Greek test which is tomorrow morning. I've choir practice in an hour or so and in the evening we have Advent meditations at the College...I'm still wandering how will I fit all in...

Have got to stop here...off to prepare lunch.

Tar Baby

Christina & Me

Arawni ftit gejna sew eee!!! le le imma qisnix xi lhudija [b'dawk in nokkli suwed] u germaniza...

This is just after Tar Baby...it was fun. There were many international students. But we had little time to talk and get to know each other. Maybe more such social activities should be organized. It's always nice to get to know other people who are sharing a fate similar to yours.

Time Flies

Just got back from UPIC - which is the University Parish. We had a baptism of a four month old baby the celebration took some two hours and a half but it was really amazing...

As for this evening I'll be going to a play called "Tar Baby" @ Pangea with Zuza, Christina, Gabi and some other people...This play is organized by a group of international students who get to stage a play every semester...

The first semester is almost over...a few more weeks and then it's study period...then exams and then the second semester begins...and then a year would be over...time flies!
