Enjoying onself at Vicky & Lionel's Wedding...I really had good time with my friends there...and how about that special cocktail bar of pina coladas...it was a wedding to remember with everything so well organized; besides being in good company makes all the difference. I would have had regrets had I not gone to this fabulous occasion.

Congratulations to the newly weds...Add Image

Treasure Hunt @ The Silent City

Chilling out in Mdina with a group of students, mostly Turkish students - assistant researchers at their respective universities; who managed to secure a fund of money to finance their three-month stay in Malta together with their studies. I had the honour to teach them and they also had their share of knowledge to impart. We really got on well together and managed to build up a relationship which I know will last after they depart from the small rocky island of Malta which they have come to love as their second home; except that things are much more expensive here than in Turkey.
The treasure hunt which we were supposed to have ended more like a guided tour. They were more after history and visiting important historical sites rather than running around, asking for directions and spotting the clues they had to find if they were to follow the instructions I handed them earlier as soon as we got off the bus. We really enjoyed ourselves and managed to spend 5 full hours inside Mdina walls...We promised ourselves to head back some day later to explore what we still had not yet explored.

Teaching English

By force of good habit, I decided to go back to IELS and spend some weeks teaching English to foreign students. I really had good time there; and managed to get along so well with the students. It is really satisfying when you know that you're getting across and that you're striking a chord. That is what you get in return for all the hard work and preparation.

But in the end I really got tired and wanted to have a well-deserved break; thus I decided to call it a day in mid-summer (aug 15); I also had to prepare handouts, ppts and lesson plans for the coming scholastic year, given that I also have new duties to attend to at school. As for now I've managed to finish so many tasks and I'm almost ahead of schedule.

Scavenger's Hunt @ Valletta

Promising much fun - we decided to take a tour to Valletta and engage in a fun activity. The competitive spirit took over and we divided ourselves in groups ran through the streets of the city asking for information with the aim of solving the many puzzles we were presented with. As a treat in the end we had a pitstop at McDonalds and then headed back to Sliema with the ferry.

Teaching Spaniards!!

Teaching English to foreign students is much fun! Spaniards range top; are by far the most enjoyable. This class was really a splendid one.
Its a shame that they are not here to stay and that when a certain type of a relationship is established we will have to part. Yet the mutual feelings that we bear for each other will stay with us no matter where we are.
Meeting different students from around the globe is quite challenging and mind broadening. Such an experience broadens one's horizon; and despite the fact that we all hail from a different cultural background, our human nature is what brings as together as one.

Thinking of the good old days...of when things were good and cherishing each and every memory. Stock taking is an exercise that we should all engage in every now and then as to make sure that the past is only there to teach us how to face what still lies ahead; it is there to teach us how to grow stronger and wiser.
It is not praiseworthy to cry your heart out in self-pity. What is done is done and what is over is over. If only we could turn back time!! Yet this to no avail. Hence it is wise to always look forward and never backwards. To keep your head held high despite everything as life is worth living if only you keep a positive outlook on it

Going out with friends is just what I really look forward to. Catching up and having some good time is what makes me cackle.
We had some good time at Rabat and Mdina whilst taking good shots at every spot. Last Sunday was the first Advent Sunday - which happened to be the day of Seher ir-Rabat; there were many street hawkers and unusual displays of local talent and taunting traditional food such as the nougat and the so-called sfineg which we had to wait for till late afternoon to taste.
To end it all we even had a small incident whence Charlo lost balance and dragged me down the canon with him. Stupid Cow!!
